Walking on top of our circumstances!
We need to ask ourselves these questions and then look at Peter and see the reason he was able to walk on water. You can read Matthew 14:22-32.
"What are your circumstances? What are my circumstances? Are we walking on them? Sometimes “Yes”. Sometimes “No”. The circumstances that Peter became fearful of were the boisterous waves and water that he was actually walking on. The wind was blowing and the waves were pounding before Peter got out of the boat. Yet he got out of the boat and walked on his circumstances because he had his focus on Jesus. We too can walk on our circumstances when we put our eyes on Jesus. When we put our eyes on Jesus, our circumstances will be under our feet just like the water was under Peter’s feet. We are not to let the circumstances in our life distract us from focusing on Jesus and who He is and cause us to sink. No No No! Jesus tells us to look at Him and we will walk on top of our circumstances. Our circumstances should be under our feet. This doesn’t mean that our circumstances have disappeared. The wind and waves were still all around Peter when he walked on water. It simply means that we are not focusing on them but on Jesus. As long as we are focusing on Jesus, our circumstances will not drown us."
We know that Peter took his eyes off of Jesus and began to sink. After Jesus rescued him and they got into the boat Jesus said to Peter "You of little faith". What does this mean because Peter actually had great faith to walk on water. What Jesus was saying is that Peter's faith was short. His great faith only lasted a short time.
Let us ask the Holy Spirit to help us have long faith so that we can enjoy lasting victories.
