Bring your mess. Bring your request.

In Revelation Chapters 4 and 5 we see a picture of worship before the Lamb who is seated on the throne of God. In Church on Sunday the woman leading in worship asked us to picture Jesus on the throne as we entered into worship. I tried to focus on Jesus sitting on the throne basking in our worship but I had a hard time picturing that. What I did picture was Jesus responding to our worship. I saw Him moving in our midst, touching hearts and lives. I saw Him ministering to us, loving on us and comforting us. It wasn't about Him. He made it about us. When we worship God, our lives are changed.

Worship is posturing our heart to seek God whether it is through singing songs, reading and meditating on the Word of God or simply bringing our mess and requests to Him. It is our heart posture. It is us seeking God, the only One who loves us unconditionally. The One who can bring transformation to us. The One who can turn our lives around and meet our every need.

Father, in Jesus' Name I ask that you would help all of us including myself, by the power of your Holy Spirit, to posture our hearts to seek you daily.
